Shanghai Conference Ambassador

The employment of ¡°Shanghai Conference Ambassadors¡± is a long-term significant measure jointly planned by Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration with outstanding figures in various industries in the city together in order to build Shanghai into an emerging conference tourism destination. Shanghai is the first city to employ conference ambassadors in China. Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration began to introduce ¡°Conference Ambassadors¡± system in 2006. Over the past few years, Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration united conference ambassadors and through the efforts of ¡°Shanghai Conference Ambassadors¡± and their colleagues, a large number of professional, high-level, international conferences have been held or settled to be held after bid in Shanghai, for example, ¡°2007 Lupus Erythematosus International Conference¡±, ¡°2008 World Congress of Endourology¡±, ¡°The 18th World Congress of International Federation of Translators 2008¡±, ¡°The Federation of Asian and Oceanian Biochemists and Molecular Biologists 2009¡±, ¡°The 30th Congress of the Societe Internationale D¡¯urologie 2009¡±, ¡°2009 Asia-Pacific Conference of Pediatric Surgical Care¡±, ¡°2010 International Congress of Radiology¡±, ¡°2011 the 8th Intracranial Stents Congress¡±, ¡°2013 Asia Pacific Digestive Week¡±, ¡°The 16th Congress of the International Pediatric Nephrology Association 2013¡±, ¡°2013 Asia Pacific Society of Infection Control¡±, and others are all large-scale international conferences with an average of over 2,000 participants. Among them, the participants of ¡°2013 Asia Pacific Digestive Week¡± exceeded over 15,000. In recent years, through the efforts of conference ambassadors, more than 20 large-scale conferences, over 200 small and medium-sized conferences were held in Shanghai or will be held in Shanghai, and the total participants exceeds over 70,000 person-times.
